Southern Farmhouse and Furniture was founded in 2016 by Frank and Abby LaCourse after they realized that most furniture available on the market lacked quality and durability. While shopping for their own home, they knew there had to be a better way for families to obtain stylish, solid wood furniture that was built to last.

Their journey began in a modest 1,000 sq ft workshop in Slidell, LA where they started by creating custom, solid cypress wood dining tables. These statement pieces were designed to be the centerpiece of a home, withstanding daily use. Frank took charge of the woodworking, while Abby handled the finishing touches. Together, they delivered each custom table to their customers’ homes on weekends. By the end of 2016, the overwhelming demand for their handmade tables led them to open a 5,000 sq ft store and expand their workshop to a 5,000 sq ft space in Slidell, LA.
